WESTPORT, Conn. Judith Anne Krone of Westport died Oct. 10, of cancer. She was 56.
Krone was born in 1956 to Henry and Elsie Ostrowski in Buffalo, N.Y. and raised there. She graduated from the State University College of New York at Buffalo, where she met her future husband, Martin.
She later received a doctorate in textiles from Purdue University and worked at the Textile Research Institute in Princeton, N.J., for most of her career. Along with her family, Krone was a resident of Westport since 2001.
She was an active parishioner of Assumption Church in Westport. She and her husband taught religious education at the church for the last 10 years and also volunteered cleaning and setting up the church. Krone loved gardening, mystery novels, watching old movies with her husband and spending time with her children.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years; two children, Charlotte Anne Krone and Wyatt Krone, both of Westport; her father, Henry Ostrowski, of Buffalo; a sister, Mary Ball, of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; a brother, Henry Ostrowski, of Sloan, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased a brother, Raymond Ostrowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at Assumption Church. Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield handled arrangements.
