WESTPORT, Conn. – Joan P. Smith, a longtime Westport resident, died Aug. 11 at Edge Hill of Stamford. She was 87.  

Born March 17, 1925, in New Britain, Conn., she was the daughter of Dr. William and Helen Finnigan Flanagan. 

Funeral services will be private. Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Stamford is handling the arrangements.
