Jean Carter Bosch, 85, Longtime Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. - Jean Carter Bosch of Westport died Aug. 19. She was 85.

Bosch was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Sprinfield, Mass., daughter of Earle Carter and Marguerite Beldon where she grew up. She graduated from Russell Sage College with her physical education teaching degree and later taught at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Mass. After her marriage she moved to Westport with her husband. She was a member of the Westport Woman’s Club, a member of their investment club, the Minuteman Yacht Club, the Saugatuck River Power Squadron, the Y’s Women, and was a member of Saugatuck Congregational Church.

Bosch is survived by her children, Jeffrey Bosch of Branford, Eric Bosch (Diane) of Westport, Steven Bosch (Mary Sue) of Redding, and Robin Bosch of Old Greenwich; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Robert Edwin Bosch.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Green’s Farms Congregational Church, 71 Hillandale Road, Westport.  Burial will be private in the Evergreen Cemetery prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Saugatuck Congregational Church Rebuilding Fund, PO Box 5186, Westport, CT 06881-5186 and/or The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russel Road, Newington, CT 06111.
