WESTPORT, Conn. – Helene J. Duffy, a former Westport resident, died July 16. She was 95.
She was married to Edmund T. Duffy Sr., the late former captain of the Westport Fire Department.
Duffy was born June 24, 1917 at her family home in Greens Farms and was a Westport resident for 90 years before moving to St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull. She was a communicant of St. Luke Church and an avid New York Yankees fan. Duffy loved gardening, cleaning, cooking and baking.
She is survived by three sons, Edmund T. (Susan) Duffy Jr., of Milford, Conn., Charles (Rose) Duffy, of Westport and Denis (Mary) Duffy, of Trumbull; two daughters, Anne Carol Sutton, of Hanover, N.H. and Donna Duffy, of Monroe, Conn.; six grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harding Funeral Home in Westport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Church in Westport. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Westport.
