Harriet Mills, 89, Lifelong Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. – Harriet L. Mills, a lifelong Westport resident, died Oct. 19 at Westport Health Care Center. She was 89. 

Born April 18, 1923, in Westport, she was the daughter of Clifford and Catherine Healey Mills. Before retiring, Mills was employed as a packer for Caprice Footwear Co. in Norwalk. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. 

Mills is survived by two brothers, Irving (Dolores) Mills, of Westport, and Clifford (Madelein) Mills, of Sunapee, N.J.; two sisters, Evelyn A. Mills, of Westport, and Catherine Pietrzak, of Bridgeport; and three nieces and three nephews. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Church in Westport. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Greens Farms.
