WESTPORT, Conn. - Gloria F. Donahue of Westport died Sunday, June 9. She was 79.
Donahue was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Stamford, daughter of Fortunato and Assunta Tripodi. She was a graduate of Stamford High School, class of 1951 and the Stamford Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and then worked for many years at St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford as a registered nurse.
Donahue is survived by her children, Kelley (Stephen) Hefferan and Lisa M. Leo, all of Norwalk, and John P. (Linda) Donahue of Medford, N.J.; sisters, Marie Keyes of Fla., and Dorothy Tripodi of Md.; five grandchildren; a cousin; several nieces and nephews; and several friends. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, John J. “Jack” Donahue.
Calling hours are Tuesday, June 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home , 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12 at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Pl., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
