Gerald W. Duquette, 93, Of Westport, Co-Owned Jerry’s Hardware Store

WESTPORT, Conn. - Gerald W. Duquette of Westport, died Sept. 7. He was 93.

Duquette was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Bellingham, Mass., son of Wilfred and Annie (Browe) Duquette. He was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1941 to 1946. He worked on the Railway Express for many years and later co-owned Jerry’s Hardware Store.

Duquette is survived by his wife, Lillian (Twarda) Duquette; brother, Louis A. Duquette of Old Saybrook; sisters, Edna Decker (Frank) of Westport, Jacqueline Goodrow of Brookkfield and Claire Faucher (Jean-Luc) of Westport; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Carl Duquette; and sisters, Marguerite Ference, Rita Greene and Marion Hall.

Calling hours are Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East. A funeral will follow in Assumption Church 98 Riverside Avenue at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Assumption Church in Westport.
