He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, the son of Everett and Helen Frey. He grew up in Westport and graduated from Staples High School in 1959. He was a 1963 graduate of Providence College and received his master’s in business administration from Boston College.
An avid golfer, Frey was as a staple at Longshore and a dedicated member and former president of the Longshore Men’s Golf Association. His greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children, Brad Frey (Kelley) of Stamford, Connecticut; Tracy Daly (Tom) of West Hartford, Connecticut; Brendon Frey (Marnie) of Southport, Connecticut; and Caitlin Burke (Ryan) of Westport; 10 grandchildren; three nieces, all of Westport; and a cousin of Westport.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 4-8 p.m. at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 84 Long Lots Road, Westport.
