Lane was born May 12, 1918, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of Samuel Augustus Fuller and Elizabeth (Calder) Fuller. Prior to the last eight years spent in Redding, she resided for 40 years in New Canaan. She was a lifelong christian scientist. She attended Bradford Junior College and Wheelock College and then graduated with a degree in early childhood education from the National College of Education in Evanston, Ill. She taught briefly. Later in her life, she did volunteer work teaching English as a second language, delivering Meals-on-Wheels, working with the Women’s Club and serving in various helping roles at the First Church of Christ, Scientist in New Canaan.
Lane is survived by daughters, Judy Wiggin (John) of Norwich, Vt., Ginger Lane (Michael) Zupko of Boulder, Colo.; sons, Doug Lane (Gay) of Cedar Grove, N.J., and Bob Lane (Beth) of Killingworth; 10 grandchildren; and 19 (soon to be 23) great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, John Burns Lane; and firstborn, Joanne Fuller Carl.
A family service is to be held June 22 in Cleveland, Ohio where Lane will be laid to rest beside her parents.
