Dale Lamberty, 69, Longtime Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Longtime Westport resident Dale Elise Lamberty died Sunday, Jan. 24. She was 69.

Born in Long Island, Lamberty graduated from college in New Paltz, N.Y., and later proudly received a nursing degree from St. Vincent's College of Nursing. She had a great talent for baking cakes and was part owner of the original Great Cakes. She was known by many as Cake Lady Dale.

She was an avid gardener and a member of the Fairfield Garden Club, where she won many awards. Above all else, cooking and baking was one of her greatest passions, and she loved to share her many creations.

Lamberty is survived by her daughter, Tracey Daniels and her husband Rick; grandchildren Tyler and Isabella Shifflet; brothers Brion Wollam and his wife Gloria and their daughter Tatijana, Glenn Wollam and his wife Bonnie and their son Tristan; sister Leslie Greenberg and her husband John; and her beloved cat Truffles.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dolores Cutler Wollam and Nat Cutler.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Ave., Southport. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall. Spear Miller Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
