Carolyn Bloom, 75, Of Westport, Co-Owned Success Unlimited

WESTPORT, Conn. - Carolyn Bloom of Westport died Tuesday, Dec. 16. She was 75.

Bloom was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Sarah "Sally" and Nathan Romanoff, and grew up in Flatbush and attended Midwood High School. Upon graduation, she worked at Columbia Pictures in New York City.

After her marriage, the family moved to Merrick, Long Island, where they resided for nearly 10 years. She was president of the Merrick Chapter of Women's American Ort.

After her husband was transferred to Connecticut, they made Westport their new home. Moving to Westport in 1976, she landed a job at a growing company, August West, where she was vice president of sales. She formed a "Mr. and Mrs." Club at Temple Israel. With her business partner and friend of over 30 years, Natalie Einson, they created Success Unlimited, an employment agency in Westport that Natalie Einson continues to run today.

She and her husband, David were members of Connecticut's Yale Repertory Theater, Long Warf Theater and the local Westport Playhouse.

Bloom is survived by her children, Michael Bloom of Evanston, Ill., and Rhonda Bloom of Westport. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Sandra; brother, Norman; husband, David Bloom; and in-laws, Esther and Isaac Bloom.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 19, at Temple Israel, 14 Coleytown Road, Westport.

Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS in Norwalk, the Lupus Research Fund for the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, N.Y., or The Caring Committee at Temple Israel in Westport.
