Carol Plaut, 87, Longtime Resident Of Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. - Carol (Barman) Stern Plaut, a resident of Westport for more than 60 years, died Dec. 1. She was 87.

Plaut was born Oct. 18, 1927, in New York City, to Walter and Celeste (Barman) Stern of Scarsdale. She graduated from New York University with a degree in Physical Education in 1948 and received a Master's Degree in Career Counseling from Fairfield University in 1984. She led the Westport PTA and other volunteer community groups.

Plaut is survived by her children, Edward "Wynn" Plaut (Robin) of Greenwich, Kim Plaut Sullivan (Joseph) of East Dennis, Mass., and Quentin R. Plaut (Michelle) of Fairfax, Va.; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Edward Weill Plaut.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at The Inn at Longshore, 260 S. Compo Road Westport, CT 06880.
