Carl 'Donnie' DePalma, 64, Westport Native

WESTPORT, Conn. – Carl Anthony "Donnie" DePalma of Humble, Texas, a former Westport resident, died June 26 after a long illness. He was 64. 

Born Jan. 2, 1948, in Westport, he was the son of Carl Francis DePalma and Lucille Bussiere Anderson. He attended Bedford Elementary, Bedford Junior High and Staples High School. 

DePalma was the owner of an excavating business in Woodbury, Conn., for many years before his recent relocation to Texas. He enjoyed snow skiing, water sports, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. 

He is survived by a son, Jason (Jennifer) DePalma; his mother, Lucille Anderson, of Coatesville, Pa.; two brothers, William (Marie) DePalma, of Weston, and Richard DePalma, of Peru, Mass.; a sister, Patti Slesinski, of Kennett (Hank) Square, Pa.; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Francis DePalma. 

Rosewood Funeral Home in Houston is handling arrangements. A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday in Houston.
