FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Betty Ann McCaslin of Fairfield died Oct. 4 at Greenwich Hospital. She was 68.
McCaslin was a former teacher at Staples High School in Westport and Saxe Middle School in New Canaan.
A native of China, Maine, she was a daughter of Donald and Arlene McCaslin. She received degrees from Boston University and Fairfield University. McCaslin worked as a teacher for 38 years and taught at Staples High School, Escola Americana de Campinas in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Saxe Middle School, from which she retired in 2004.
McCaslin is survived by two daughters, Tiffany (Thomas) Ayres, of Trumbull, and Davina Josko, and her fiance, Ryan Bango, of Fairfield; a brother, William McCaslin, of China, Maine; two sisters, Jane (Ronnie) Sherman, of Palermo, Maine, and Terry (Edward) Curtis, of China, Maine; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Dennis and D'Arcy Funeral Home in Stratford. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dr. Matthew H. Calkins officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Village Cemetery in Vassalboro, Maine.
