WILTON, Conn. – Anne Luciano Duquette, a Westport native and former Wilton resident, died Aug. 23 in Rutland, Vt. She was 86.
Born June 5, 1926, in Westport, Duquette was the daughter of Dominic J. Luciano and Constantina Capase Luciano. She graduated from Staples High School in 1944 and married Roland R. Duquette in 1947.
They started a family in Westport and moved to Wilton in 1951, where she lived until shortly before her death. Duquette began her professional career in Westport, working for Wake & See law firm. She later worked as an executive secretary for Vesper Corp. in Fairfield for more than 30 years.
Duquette was an active member of the Joseph J. Clinton VFW Post 399 Ladies Auxiliary, Wilton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and Wilton Athletic Club. More than anything, though, she loved gardening and could often be found weeding her flower and vegetable patches for hours on end, her family said.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland, on Aug. 4, 1978; and six siblings, Cammillia Luciano, Dominic Luciano Jr., Samuel J. Luciano, Michael Luciano and two infant brothers.
Duquette is survived by two children, Raymond R. (Beth Kashner) Duquette Sr., of West Pawlet, Vt., and Suzanne Duquette (Thomas A.) Yates, of Wilton; five grandchildren, Keith (Carol Fox) Guinipero, of Hampton, N.Y., Elizabeth Duquette (Donald) Burr, of Norwalk, Raymond R. (Sarah Coppins) Duquette Jr., of Granville, N.Y., Lisa Anne (Brian Kilpatrick) Yates, of Easton, Mass., and Jeff Yates, of Wilton; and six great-grandchildren.
Burial services will be held privately at Hillside Cemetery in Wilton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
