WESTPORT, Conn. – Anna M. Falsone of Westport died Dec. 8 at Notre Dame Convalescent Home. She was 88.
Born Nov. 19, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Philip and Catherine Monticciolo Mandracchia. She graduated from Hunter College and was married to Dr. Jack Falsone for almost 67 years.
During World War II, she worked as a translator for the Free French Government of Madagascar in New York City. She taught Italian at Norwalk evening classes and was a volunteer for Norwalk Hospital’s Treasure House.
Falsone is survived by her husband; two daughters, Meg (Bob) Browder, of Pace, Fla., and Catherine (Dave) Swan, of Westport; a brother, Dr. Vincent (Elaine) Mandracchia, of Spring Lake, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Anthony J. (Betty) Falsone, of Whitestone, N.Y.; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption Church in Westport. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
