WESTPORT, Conn. – Alvin G. Farans, of Westport, died on Wednesday, April 6. He was 88.
Farans was born on Jan 22, 1928, in Norwalk to William and Mildred Farans.
He graduated from Lehigh University and serving in the Navy during the Korean War.
After his service, he worked for the Pennsylvania Petroleum Company.
He is survived by two daughters, Danielle Finke of Ridgefield, and Claudia Morse of New York City and five grandchildren.
Farans was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Neil, and his sister Diane.
Services will be on Sunday, April 10, at noon at Temple Shalom, 259 Richards Ave. in Norwalk.
Interment will follow at IHS/Temple Shalom Cemetery, 143 Richards Ave. in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Regional Hospice and Home Care Center of Western Connecticut or the American Lung Association.
