WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Yekutiel "Kuti" Zeevi, 65, was killed Thursday during a robbery at his Post Road jewelry business. He was soon to have been a grandfather to a baby boy.
Husband of Nava Zeevi, he was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and had lived in Westport for the past 30 years, where he worked as a wholesale diamond expert.
People who knew him described Zeevi as a well-liked, generous and kind man. Outside of his work, he had a passion for soccer.
In addition to his wife, Zeevi is survived by his son, Neer Zeevi and his wife Liora Zeevi of New London; his son-in-law Kevin Trager of West Hartford; and his sister Ilana Sigal of Israel. His daughter, Tali Zeevi-Trager, died in 2007.
Services will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Israel, 14 Coleytown Road, Westport. Burial will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
