WESTPORT, Conn. — The worker who died in a fall from the roof of a Westport home over the weekend was identified Monday as a 29-year-old Stamford man, police said.

The fall that killed Juan B. Rodriguez is still under investigation by the Westport Police Department's Detective Bureau and OSHA, police said.

The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine his cause of death, police said.

A second worker suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday in the fall from a three-story home in the Compo Beach part of town, police said. He remained at Norwalk Hospital on Monday, with no update on his condition, police said.

As of Monday, no charges had been filed in the accident.

The Westport Police Department, Westport Fire Department and Westport Emergency Medical Services responded to a Norwalk Avenue home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday on a report that two male workers had fallen off a three-story roof, police said.

Responding units found one of the victims was dead at the scene, police said. The second victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Connecticut Post reported that the men were making repairs on the roof of the home, which was set up with scaffolding.
