WESTPORT, Conn. A Norwalk woman was arrested in Westport on Tuesday after an officer learned she was wanted in Alabama as a fugitive from justice, police said.
Amber Jean-Louis, 25, was pulled over on Post Road East for a motor vehicle violation. When the officer checked the cars registration, it was flagged as belonging to a possible wanted person in Alabama for being a fugitive from justice, police said.
Jean-Louis matched the description of the wanted person. Once the officer confirmed the warrant, which is an extraditable warrant, Jean-Louis was taken into custody. The warrant stemmed from failure to appear and obstructing justice charges.
Jean-Louis was held on $300,000 bond and was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday morning in Norwalk Superior Court.
