WESTPORT, Conn. A 29-year-old Shelton woman was arrested in Westport Sunday afternoon after her blood-alcohol level measured more than three times the legal limit, police said.
Police received reports that a Honda CRV headed south on the Merritt Parkway was driving erratically before it got off at Exit 42. One of the witnesses who called police followed the Honda off the highway until it parked in the rear lot at 12 Avery Place, police said.
When officers arrived, the driver, Jessica Denes, was confused and incoherent, and the car smelled of alcohol, police said. She failed field sobriety tests, and the results of her breath test were .313 and .287. The legal blood-alcohol limit is .08.
Denes was charged with driving under the influence. She was released after posting a $500 bond and is due in court on Oct. 4.
