Picking flowers may seem harmless, but Westport resident Durri Fishkind was charged with theft last week for allegedly picking plastic flowers from the front of a Post Road business.
On Thursday night, Fishkind, 49, was spotted by a patrolling officer removing plastic flowers from the planters in front of Top This Frozen Yogurt, police say. Fishkind was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court April 21.
The next night, Fishkind found herself in more trouble after police were called to the condo complex at 19 Ludlow Road on a larceny report. More than $1,035 worth of concrete garden decorations and planters were reported stolen. Police say a responding officer remembered arresting Fishkind the night before in a similar theft, and it was known she lived nearby.
When officers arrived at Fishkind's residence, they found the stolen items along with other similar items reported stolen in another theft. She was charged with fourth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny and is due in court April 25.
