WESTPORT, Conn. – With Memorial Day coming up, several places around Westport will be closed or operating on a different schedule. Here's what you need to know before heading out Monday.
? Westport schools/Board of Education offices
? Westport Town Hall
? Westport Public Library
? Westport Weston Family Y
? Westport Arts Center
? The Earthplace museum (trails, playground and Birds of Prey will be open)
? Westport Senior Center
? The transfer station (Sherwood Island) and yard waste site (Bayberry Lane)
? Post Offices
? Most banks (call ahead to see if your bank is open)
? All state and federal offices
Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, liquor stores and other retail locations are open. However, these places may be operating on a Sunday schedule or special holiday hours. It’s a good idea to call ahead before heading out to any of these establishments.
If you’re planning a trip via Metro-North, a Sunday schedule will be in effect Monday, with one extra inbound train to Grand Central. This train will depart New Haven at 7:47 p.m. and make local stops to Fairfield, then Westport, before going express to Grand Central.
