WESTPORT, Conn. Head to the Westport Womans Club's annual Yankee Doodle Fair with the family, catch a performance of the musical comedy Company or help support the Westport Animal Shelter Advocates this weekend in Westport. Heres some events happening in and around town over the next three days.
Friday, June 15
Yankee Doodle Fair: 6 to 10 p.m. Spend a night out with the family at the annual Yankee Doodle Fair. Enjoy carnival rides, play games, enter to win raffle prizes, browse craft vendors and, of course, eat all you can eat. The fair continues Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Westport Womans Club, 44 Imperial Ave./Imperial Avenue parking lot.
Photography Exhibit Opens: 6 to 8 p.m. A photography exhibit featuring 20 contemporary photographs opens with a public reception at the Westport Arts Center. Landscape: Scene / Re-Seen features 15 acclaimed artists whose work explores the way people view landscape today and how it is impacted by the human footprint. The exhibit will run through Sunday, Sept. 2. Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave.
Movie Under the Stars: 7 p.m. Catch the family-friendly movie Gnomeo and Juliet under the stars outside the Earthplace sanctuary. Bring a blanket and snuggle up with your loved ones. The movie begins at dusk. Concessions will be available. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown in the Earthplace auditorium. Fee is $20 per member family and $25 for nonmember families. Musical Comedy Company: 8 to 10:15 p.m. Westport Community Theatre presents Company, a Tony award-winning musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The show follows Robert, a 35-year-old confirmed bachelor, through a series of encounters with women. He also learns lessons from his married friends, causing him to weigh the pros and cons of married life and the wonders and pitfalls of relationships. The show continues Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through July 1. Tickets are $23 to $25. Call 203-226-1983 or go to westportcommunitytheatre.com . Cycling Studio Celebrates 1 Year: 7 a.m. JoyRide Cycling Studio is celebrating one-year of business with live music and high-energy classes. The festivities kick off at 7 a.m. with a Tabata cycling class and continue throughout the morning. There will also be raffle prizes for JoyRide class packages and brunch provided by Westports Nothin But foods. JoyRide Cycling Studio, 1200 Post Road E.
Lemonade Stand & Silent Auction: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Westport Animal Shelter Advocates, a nonprofit that helps homeless dogs, is hosting its annual lemonade stand and silent auction fundraising event in downtown Westport. Stop by for a free glass of lemonade and the chance to win Yankee/Red Sox tickets, signed memorabilia, a chartered boat outing, spa packages, theater tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more. Bruce, Westport's Top Dog for 2012, will also be on hand. In case of rain, the event will take place Sunday. 90 Main St.

Symposium with Author/Playwright Joan Didion : 4:30 p.m. Renowned author, essayist and playwright Joan Didion will be a guest at a Westport Country Playhouse Sunday Symposium, following the 3 p.m. matinee performance of her play The Year of Magical Thinking, based on her 2005 National Book Award-winning memoir. Didion will converse with David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director. Following the symposium, Didion will sign copies of her books, which will be available for purchase.
