WESTPORT, Conn. — An art-themed happy hour, a townwide art exhibit and the annual Memorial Day parade are among the events in store for residents in and around Westport this holiday weekend. Here are some highlights:

Friday, May 25

• Art Cafe Happy Hour: 6-7 p.m. Gather in the Westport Arts Center Gallery once a month for a festive, art-themed Happy Hour. BYO beverage encouraged. Free. Westport Arts Center .

• 'The Sound and the Saugatuck: Watershed Moments": 5-7 p.m. Opening reception for new art exhibit at the Westport Historical Society . "How has Westport’s locale — its position at the junction of Long Island Sound estuary and the tidal Saugatuck River—shaped town history?" Exhibit continues through Sept. 1. 25 Avery Place, Westport, 51 Riverside Ave.

• Art About Town: Month-long event in which art will be displayed throughout downtown , continues throughout the weekend in Westport.

• Jeff Pitchell And Texas Flood W/ Special Guest J Geils: 7 p.m. Concert at Fairfield Theatre Company StageOne, 70 Sanford St., Fairfield.

Saturday, May 26

• Weston 5K Road Race: 8:30 a.m. Memorial day road race benefits Weston High School PTO. Race starts and ends at Weston High School and travels through residential and historic Weston neighborhoods, from Old Hyde Road to Norfield Road before it winds back to School Road. Race starts at 8:30a.m. with walkers starting at 8:35 a.m. and a kids' fun run at 8 a.m. Weston High School, 115 School Road.

Sunday, May 27

• Aspetuck Land Trust Hike: 9 a.m. to noon. 'Migrants & Residents' — Learn about birds with a conservation biologist from the CT Audubon Society. Trout Brook Valley Orchard, Easton.

Monday, May 28

• Westport Memorial Day Parade: The parade will kickoff at 9 a.m. at Saugatuck Elementary School on Riverside Avenue. From there, it will travel up Riverside Avenue, cross onto Post Road East and make its way to Town Hall on Myrtle Avenue. Westport resident Alphonse “Buck” Iannacone , a recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Battle Star, is the grand marshal.
