The Westport Country Playhouse is offering a behind-the-scenes look at an upcoming production, the Staples High School Class of 2012 says farewell and the Human Services Department is collecting gently used prom dresses this week. Heres a look at some of the events planned through Thursday.
Monday, June 18
Sneak peek of Tartuffe: 7 p.m. Catch a sneak peek of the Westport Country Playhouses upcoming production of Molières Tartuffe. David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director and director of Tartuffe, will give a behind-the-scenes look at producing this French classic. French wine and light hors doeuvres will be served. Journalist Pam Belluck at the library : 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Journalist Pam Belluck will speak about her nonfiction book Island Practice: Cobblestone Rash, Underground Tom, and Other Adventures of a Nantucket Doctor. Free. Westport Library, McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

Staples High School Baccalaureate : 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Discover the talents of this years graduating senior class during the annual baccalaureate ceremony. Class Salutatorian Carolyn Chen will headline the evening with a speech. Staples High School, auditorium, 70 North Ave.

Book Chat: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Join the discussion of the book Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson. For copies of the book, call 203-291-4821. New participants are welcome. Another discussion will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Westport Library, Sheffer Reading Room, 20 Jesup Road.
Staples High School graduation: 2 p.m. Staples High School field house, 70 North Ave. A reception will follow the ceremony in the main lobby and courtyard areas.
Wednesday, June 20
Prom dress collection: 2 to 6 p.m. Dont let prom dresses or other special occasion and cocktail dresses waste away in your closet. Donate them to the Westport Human Services Department so less fortunate girls can use them in the future. Gently used and clean dresses only. The collection drive continues Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. Toquet Hall Teen Center, 58 Post Road E.
Deer Management meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Deer Management Committee is holding a public meeting View the Agenda . Room 309 in Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.
