WESTPORT, Conn. Westport teens will have the opportunity to learn about underage drinking laws from the experts Monday at Toquet Hall. Also this week, the towns legislative body will set final town and Board of Education budgets and Mitchells of Westport is hosting a special fundraiser for U.S. military. Heres a list of some of the events happening in Westport over the next few days.
Monday, May 7
Cop shop: 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Westport Police Youth Collaborative is hosting its second Cop Shop, an informal roundtable discussion between cops and kids. High school kids are welcome to ask a cop anything that comes to mind. The theme of this Cop Shop is Youth and Alcohol: What every teen needs to know about underage drinking and Connecticut laws. Teens will get to experience fatal vision goggles during the event. Toquet Hall, 58 Post Road E.
Representative Town Meeting: 7:30 p.m. Westports legislature will meet to finalize the towns 2012-13 budget. The meeting will be held in the auditorium at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave. View the agenda online .
Tuesday, May 8
Downtown 2020 Committee: 8:30 a.m. The Downtown 2020 Committee is holding a public meeting in room 309 of Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave. The agenda is available at the town website.
Stand for the Troops : 6 to 8 p.m. Mitchells of Westport, 670 Post Road E., is hosting a cocktail reception and auction to benefit Stand for the Troops , a nonprofit organization that supports active and returning troops. The event will help raise awareness and funds for the nonprofits Post Traumatic Stress Disorder initiative, which will give seriously traumatized veterans and soldiers access to the latest PTSD therapies. Tickets are $75 per person or $100 per couple.

Business Special: 7 to 9 p.m. Information technology executive and Westport resident Mark Mathias will teach the basics of LinkedIn, including how to set up a profile, how to use LinkedIn as a tool for finding a job and the etiquette of asking for and giving recommendations. The workshop will be held in the McManus Room at the Westport Library.
