What's Happening in Weston This Weekend

WESTON, Conn. – The Cat from Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s book “The Cat in the Hat” will make an appearance in Norwalk. Hollywood icon Mickey Rooney is coming to Fairfield, and the Weston High School production of “Guys & Dolls” begins.  Here’s what else is happening this weekend.

Friday, March 23

• Meet The Cat – Children will be able to get up close and personal with The Cat from Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk. There will be storytelling, crafts and a musical parade for children to enjoy. Tickets are $12 per person for $10 for those who are members of the museum. It is at 303 West Ave. in Norwalk. • "Guys & Dolls" – Watch Weston High School students Ross Cohen and Annabelle Shea in the high school production of “Guys & Dolls” at 8 p.m. The musical is directed by Damian Long. Additional performances are Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m., March 30 at 8 p.m. and March 31 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for  adults and $6 for seniors or students. Tickets can be purchased through the Weston High School Company website . The high school is at 115 School Road.

Saturday, March 24

• Board of Assessment Appeals – 9 a.m., community room, Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road.

• Charter Revision Commission – 1 p.m., meeting room, Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road.

• Mickey Rooney speaks – Legendary Hollywood actor Mickey Rooney will speak at Fairfield’s Sacred Heart University at 7 p.m. as a part of the college’s American Legend series. Tickets are $10 to $25. The event will be at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts , 5151 Park Ave.

Sunday, March 25

• Charter Revision Commission – 11:30 a.m., meeting room, Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road.

• The bunny train – Children can ride in a vintage train car from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. to meet the Easter Bunny at the Danbury Railway Museum .
