What's Happening in Weston This Week

WESTON, Conn. – A public hearing on Weston’s 2012-2013 proposed town spending plan, a talk on the “Allergy Epidemic” and several town meetings are just some of the events happening in and around Weston this week.

Monday, March 12

7 p.m.: The Westport Country Playhouse presents a reading of Simon Gray's play, “Stage Struck.” Tickets are $15. The playhouse is located at 25 Powers Court in Westport.

7:45 p.m.: The Weston Parks and Recreation Commission will meet tonight in the community room of Town Hall, located at 56 Norfield Road.

Tuesday, March 13

12 to 1 p.m.: Hugh A. Sampson, M.D., of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, will discuss “The Food Allergy Epidemic” today at Greenwich’s Bruce Museum. For information, call 203-869-0376.

5:30 p.m.: The Weston Sustainability Committee will meet tonight in the community room of Town Hall, located at 56 Norfield Road.

8 p.m.: The Republic Town Committee will meet tonight in the community room of Town Hall, located at 56 Norfield Road.

8 p.m.: The Weston Board of Finance is holding a public hearing on the 2012-2013 proposed town and school budget at Weston Middle School. Weston residents are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on the proposed spending plans. Weston Middle School is located at 135 School Road. A second public hearing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, depending on if more discussion is needed.

Wednesday, March 14

12 to 1:30 p.m.: Professional organizer, Larry Russick, will be at the Weston Public Library to talk about living a clutter-free life. You can bring your lunch. In the community room, 56 Norfield Road.

7:30 p.m.: The Weston Charter Revision Committee meets at Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road.

Thursday, March 15

7:30 p.m.: The Weston Board of Selectmen meets at Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road.
