What's Happening in Easton This Weekend

EASTON, Conn. — A park cleanup, a frog frolic, celebrity concerts and a garden party are some of the events in and around Easton this weekend.

Friday, May 4

Toth Park Cleanup : 8:30–10:30 a.m. Volunteers are welcome to help out at the Toth Park cleanup effort, dedicated to beautifying the park and protecting the waterfront. Tree plantings and prunings are under way. Coffee, tea and water provided; bring gloves, shovels, rakes and watering cans. The cleanup takes place at Toth Park, 363 Black Rock Turnpike, Easton.

Saturday, May 5

Frog Frolic : 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Redding's Mark Twain Library has its 17th annual Frog Frolic, featuring games, crafts, a food tent, giant inflatables and a silent auction. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by joining the yummy 4th Annual Cake Walk. The event takes place at Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road, Redding.

Natalie Cole concert: 6 p.m. Natalie Cole, the Grammy Award-winning performer with a slew of hits, headlines a concert to benefit DART, Dana's Angel Research Trust. Concert tickets are $65 to $150 for the show at the Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St., Stamford.

Cabaret Evening: 7 p.m. A cabaret evening with actor Charles Keating, a Weston resident, and his family will include Irish and British music hall songs, poetry and stories. A wine reception at 7 p.m. followed by the performance at 7:45 costs $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The event takes place at the Weston Public Library, 56 Norfield Road.

Sunday, May 6

STAR Walk, Roll & Stroll Family Fun Day : 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Join the 7th annual fun day and walk for people of all physical abilities at Sherwood Island State Park. Includes a choice of two walking paths (1k and 3k). There will be family-oriented entertainment, face painting, crafts, demonstrations from community groups and lunch is available. The event is a fundraiser so donations are suggested. It takes place at Sherwood Island State Park, Westport.

Stepping Stones Garden Party : 2 p.m. Stepping Stones Museum invites families to its BooZoo, Bugs and Butterflies Garden Party. Don your tea time best, enjoy tasty treats and explore the wonders of nature at the outdoor garden party. Admission to the party is $5 at Stepping Stones Museum, 303 West Ave., Norwalk.
