WESTPORT, Conn. -- A recently appointed advisory committee to decide the fate of the 129-year-old Kemper-Gunn House has decided to physically move the historic building from its current home on Church Lane to Elm Street in August, according to Westport Now.
The Kemper-Gunn house is being moved to make way for a retail and residential complex known as Bedford Square. The new complex is taking the place of the 81-year-old Westport Weston Y building, according to the article.
The developers of Bedford Square have reportedly offered to move the Kemper-Gunn House at their own expense.
Elm Street will be widened by three feet to accommodate the historic house, according to the article.
