WESTPORT, Conn. -- Construction crews will begin annual milling and paving of several roads in Westport starting on Wednesday at 7 a.m.
Roadway milling will begin on Richmondville Avenue at Oak Street and work south to Main Street. Paving operations will begin Friday and will follow the course of milled roads.
Other roads to be milled and paved during the project will be Woods Grove Road, Burr Road, Indian Hill Road, Ferry Lane and West End Avenue.
Crews are expected to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The project is expected to take two weeks.
Alternating one-way traffic will be in effect during the work day, after which the roadway will be opened for regular two-way traffic.
Raised structures will be present in the travel way and will be marked by cones, barrels, paint or drums. Drivers are warned to proceed with caution as this area will be a work zone until the paving project is completed.
Normal traffic traveling through the work zone should anticipate delays and are asked to follow instruction of traffic control personnel and Westport police officers.
