If you have ideas on how to help revitalize downtown Westport, don't miss the chance to speak your mind. On Thursday night, the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public meeting to discuss ways to enhance shopping, dining and entertainment downtown.
The meeting, to be held in the Town Hall auditorium, is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 10:45 p.m. An "open mic" portion is scheduled for 8:20 to 10 p.m., during which members of the public can voice their opinions.
Presentations by commissioners, interest groups and Coleytown Middle School students are also scheduled. At the end of the meeting, the commission will have a work session to discuss the next step.
For anyone interested in downtown issues, a special page on the town website has been set up. If you'd like to voice your opinions but can't make it to the meeting, written communications may be sent to Larry Bradley via email , or delivered to the Planning and Zoning Department in Town Hall.
