WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Weston Family Y is hosting a public informational meeting about traffic improvements to be made to the northbound exit/entrance ramps at Exit 41 of the Merritt Parkway, near the entrance of the Y’s Mahackeno campus on Sunny Lane.
With the new Y facility under construction at Machackno, the goal of this project is to improve the flow of traffic and safety in that area, Y officials said in a statement. Construction on the project is expected to begin the week of July 15.
The public informational meeting will be held on June 24, at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the Y’s downtown facility, 59 Post Road E. Representatives from the Y will be joined by its construction partners to explain the state-approved project and to answer questions from the community.
The project, being funded entirely by the Y, through its “Building What Matters” capital campaign, will widen the Merritt Parkway Connector, reconfigure and expand the northbound exit ramp to two lanes, and add new signals.
