Westport resident Samantha Goltzer crossed the line early Thursday morning make that the double yellow center lines.
Police spotted Goltzer, 21, who was driving south on the Sherwood Island Connector, after she crossed over into the northbound lane. When she was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath and noticed her eyes were red and glassy.
Goltzer, of 170 Post Road W., failed field sobriety tests and was charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. The results of her breath tests, which she agreed to take, were 0.186 and 0.173. The legal blood alcohol level is 0.08.
She was released after posting $500 bond and is due in court June 9.
