A family gathering ended with the arrest of Westport resident Monica Schutz Saturday night after she got into a dispute with family members, police said.
Schutz, 37, of 1 Palmieri Road, struck one member of her family, damaged a necklace and threw a digital camera against a wall, police said. She was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Monday, May 9.

? Westport police charged a Bridgeport man with shoplifting after he filed a false police report in Fairfield last Wednesday night. Police said 46-year-old Michael Roberts told Fairfield police that he'd been robbed of his wallet near the Westport town line. Later, Roberts said he made up the story about being robbed, police said.
Roberts was found carrying a reusable Stop & Shop bag filled with various items, which he admitted to stealing from the Westport supermarket. Westport police were contacted and Robert's was charged with sixth-degree larceny. The stolen items were valued at approximately $76. He was released by Westport police on a promise to appear in court on May 16.
? Bridgeport resident Milagros Astacio, 44, turned herself in to Westport police Wednesday morning on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is due in court on May 16.
