A fight with a friend about borrowed clothing led to the arrest of 20-year-old Stephanie Bernier in Westport on Friday night.
According to police, Bernier, of 17 Lees Lane, Westport, got into an argument with a friend over clothing Bernier allegedly borrowed and failed to return. The argument turned into a physical fight, which Bernier allegedly started, and some of the friend's property was damaged, police said.
Bernier was charged with breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief. She was released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 24.

? Orange resident Jeremy Heins turned himself in to Westport police Jan. 11 after learning the department held a warrant for his arrest. According to police reports, the warrant stems from a July incident in which Heins, 21, allegedly stole $16,000 worth of jewelry from a home in which he had installed an air conditioner. He was charged with second-degree larceny and was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 21.
? Stamford resident John Stanton was pulled over by Westport police Sunday night after he allegedly was seen speeding and swerving along Saugatuck Avenue. When Stanton, 49, was stopped, the officer reportedly smelled alcohol on his breath. Stanton refused breath tests but failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. He is due in court Jan. 24.
