The Heat Kills campaign is being led by students. Brandon Malin, a soon-to-be Staples High School student and member of Westport Animal Shelter Advocates, started and conducted the campaign with the cooperation of the Westport Police Department, the First Selectman's office, and the Department of Public Works. The signs were designed by Staples High School students Ali Green and Jordi Katz under the guidance of teacher Carla Eichler in the Design and Technology class.
