WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Veterans Council will host ceremonies in observance of Veterans Day on Monday.
Council President William Vornkahl announced recently that Veterans Day ceremonies would be held at 11 a.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium, according to a press release.
“Veterans Day is a time to recognize and thank the men and women of our armed forces,” First Selectman Gordon Joseloff said in the release. “I invite all residents to join me in honoring our veterans.”
Several organizations will participate in the ceremonies including the Westport Community Band, the Westport Police Department Honor Guard, members of the Joseph J. Clinton Post 399 Veterans of Foreign Wars, representatives of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 399 and members of the August Mathias Post 63 American Legion, according to the release.
Town Hall offices will be closed on Veterans Day but Board of Education offices will be opened, according to the release.
