WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport residents are invited to attend a special Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Thursday, March 3, to discuss an amendment that would allow cluster housing in town.
The amendment was proposed by a developer to ease rules to build cluster housing for residents who want to downsize. The proposal, by Melvin Barr of Barr Associates, would allow multiple single-family dwellings, each not to exceed 3,200 square feet, on 1-acre lots in the Residential A zoning district. Normally only two single-family homes would be built on a 1-acre lot.
All those interested in this amendment are encouraged to attend the meeting at 7 p.m. in the Westport Town Hall auditorium.
Copies of the amendment are available at Town Hall in the Planning and Zoning Office and the Office of the Town Clerk.
The commission can receive written comments from the public in advance of the hearing. Once the hearing is closed, no more information or comments will be accepted.
Town Hall is at 110 Myrtle Ave.
