Westport Taking Applications For Tax Relief Programs

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Assessor’s Office and the Human Services Department are continuing to take applications for the state and local tax relief programs.

The application date for the town and state credit programs will run through Friday, May 13.

The town deferral programs for real estate deferral will run through Friday, July 29, and sewer deferral will run through Tuesday, November 15.

All applications will be taken by appointment only.

Those who call are asked to have their 2015 personal and business tax returns completed, along with copies of their 2015 social security earnings statement, pension statement and W-2/1099, if applicable.

Appointments may be made by contacting the Assessor’s Office at 203-341-1070.

Taxpayers who are unable to come to Town Hall may contact Human Services at 203-341-1050 to schedule a home visit.

All applicants must appear in person to file for tax relief.
