WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Board of Selectmen voted to approve the purchase of new signs that will help make drivers aware of the Connecticut law that mandates drivers keep three-feet between a cyclist and their vehicle while passing on roadways.
The neon yellow signs will be posted at the following locations:
The southbound side of South Compo Road south of the railroad overpass
The eastbound side of Greens Farms Road between Hillspoint Road and the Sherwood Island Connector
The southbound side of Hillspoint Road south of Greens Farms Road
The board also requested that the town attorney draft a policy for the placement of signs on town roadways that the Traffic Authority may review and adopt at a future meeting.
