WESTPORT, Conn. The town of Westport wants you to volunteer. First Selectman Gordon Joseloff is calling on resident to volunteer to fill vacancies on several town boards, commissions and committees.
"Nothing is more fulfilling than being able to serve our community as a volunteer," Joseloff said in a release. "Hundreds of Westporters already give their time in so many ways to the town but there is always a need for new faces."
Town bodies with vacancies include: Boating Advisory Committee, Conservation Commission, Dangerous Dog Hearing Board, Flood and Erosion Control Board, Hillspoint Road Committee, Municipal Employees Pension Committee, Public Site and Building Commission, Shellfish Commission, Sherwood Mill Pond Advisory Committee, Tree Board and Youth Board.
Some openings are for regular members and others are for alternates, who fill in for regular members who can't attend. Terms range from one to four years. Information about the work each board does can be found on the town's website .
