Westport P&Z Rejects ‘Riverwalk District' Development Along The Saugatuck

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission has rejected a text amendment to develop a "Riverwalk District" at the site of the former Save the Children property along the west bank of the Saugatuck River, according to Westport News.

Proposed by developer David Waldman, the amendment was rejected because of the 47-foot height of a proposed three-story building included in the project, which would exceed the town's limit on building height, said Westport News.

The development would have included residential space — with some units considered affordable housing — as well as commercial space, added Westport News.
