Heres some good news for residents who have ever had a complaint, compliment or suggestion for the Planning and Zoning Department . Larry Bradley, director of the Planning and Zoning Department, announced Tuesday that a new customer service survey is on the horizon.
This survey, according to Bradley, will let residents who use the services of the Planning and Zoning Department provide feedback on their experiences.
"This is just the latest in a number of recent initiatives by the department to improve customer service," Bradley said in a release. "We have streamlined a number of processes, including establishing open walk-in hours for issuing zoning permits, allowing a permit to be issued the same day instead of the old appointment system where a two-week wait was normally required."
Additionally, Bradley said the department has made it easier for most residents to have work done within their homes by eliminating the need for almost all interior renovation permits for residential projects.
"We are very encouraged by the customer response to these actions and are seeking additional ways to improve the customer experience," Bradley said.
The new customer service survey will be given to all applicants who come in for zoning permits or have zoning inspections on their property. The survey will also be available on the town's website .
All survey responses will be returned directly to the First Selectman's Office. And while the survey is anonymous, there will be a space at the bottom to leave contact information if you'd like to be contacted by Bradley.
