Anyone who plans on traveling in or out of Saugatuck Shores is advised that there may be limited access during high tide, which is at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The bridge spanning Harbor Road is in the process of being replaced, and therefore the only way to access the Island is via Canal Road.

Police expect that Canal Road will flood during Saturday’s high tide due to an “astronomical high tide” and heavy winds.

Drivers are asked to refrain from driving on Canal Road if water is covering the roadway.

Call 911 immediately in the event that your vehicle becomes disabled in flood waters. Both the police and fire departments have vehicles capable of making it over flooded roadways in the event that there is an emergency on the Island during the above mentioned time period.
