Westport Police Warn Drivers To Watch For Bicyclist During Race

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police are warning residents to be aware there will be a large number of bicyclists on the road Sunday during the Bloomin Metric Bicycle Tour.

The race, sponsored by the Sound Cyclist Bicycle Club, is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year's sponsor is Hope in Motion with Stamford Hospital's Bennett Cancer Center. Hope in Motion funds quality-of-life services, free-of-charge, for center patients and their families. These services include exercise and nutrition programs, integrative medicine like yoga, massage, Reiki and survivorship programs. 

Riders can donate or form teams to raise money for Hope in Motion. 

There are three routes to choose from during the race, including 27 miles, 48 miles or 63 miles.
