WESTPORT, Conn. – Two rare Chinese sculptures worth an estimated $800,000 each were stolen Tuesday in Westport, police say.

The Louhan head sculptures, which date to the Tang Dynasty, are 900 to 1,000 years old. Police say they were from a private collection and were being stored in Westport. The sculptures were carved from sandstone and measure 15-by-10-by-15 inches and weigh 55 to 70 pounds, police say.

The Westport Police Detective Bureau and the FBI are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Westport Police Detective Bureau. All information will be kept confidential.
