After a short pursuit, two New Haven men were arrested in Westport on Saturday morning after allegedly shoplifting from CVS on Post Road East.
Shortly after 10 a.m., police were called to CVS on a report that two men had stolen $660 worth of Sonic toothbrushes. The suspects were reportedly seen driving a green Subaru Outback east on the Post Road after leaving the store.
Patrolling officers spotted the car heading south on the Sherwood Island Connector. When officers tried to stop the car, the driver engaged officers in a brief pursuit onto Greens Farms Road then into the Southport section of Fairfield. The car eventually pulled over on Pequot Avenue where the suspects, Mark Adamo and Roger Card, were arrested.
The items taken from CVS were found inside the car. Adamo, 36, was charged with fifth-degree larceny. Card, 35, was charged with fifth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and misuse of plates.
Both men were held at the Westport Police Department on bond.
