Westport Police Nab Suspected Greens Farms Burglar

WESTPORT, Conn. – A Bridgeport man believed to be responsible for three overnight home burglaries in Westport early last month is facing multiple charges after he was arrested Monday, Capt. Sam Arciola said.

The suspect, Tyrone B. Doby, is accused of burglarizing three occupied homes in the Greens Farms section of town. In all three cases, the home’s residents were inside, sleeping, Arciola said.

The burglaries were reported over two days. A Honda Civic, cash and a laptop were reported stolen from a home on Devon Road on May 6. The following day, laptop computers were reported stolen from a home on Greens Farms Road and several cars inside a garage at another Devon Road home were reportedly entered.

Doby, 47, was charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, four counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny and third-degree larceny. He was held on $100,000 bond and is due in court June 13.

“The Westport Police Department Detective Bureau worked very hard in identifying the person responsible for these burglaries,” Arciola said in a statement. “We continue to look at the link between these burglaries and others which are still under investigation.”
